Principal Peckham’s Voice Message from 9/4

Friday, September 4

Good evening Martin Middle School families, this is your Principal, Lacey Peckham. Thank you to everyone for another successful week in the books. There are only a few quick calendar reminders for tonight’s Friday voicemail.

First, I want to take a moment to say “thank you” to all the families who were able to attend Meet the Teacher Night last night.  It was great to see all of you and meet so many parents in person and I hope it was informative for you. If you were not able to attend, fear not, we do have a few other opportunities coming up later in September and early October where you will be able network with a variety of staff members on topics that may be of interest.

One of these is:

  1. Informal Parent Chat for 6th grade parents with Mr. Kimbro (6th grade Assistant principal) and Ms. Moore (6th grade counselor). This informal session will be held on Sept. 24 at 8:00.

A few reminders about next week:

Friday is our first school dance. Students in all three grade levels are invited to attend the dance in our gymnasium from 7-9. This is a casual event, and school dress code and student behavioral expectations apply. Parents, please keep in mind that for the dance, your students will all be dropped off at the morning carpool drop-off location.  For pick-up, however, we do have 2 separate locations, depending on your student’s grade level. 7th and 8th graders will be picked up in the normal carpool area. 6th grade students, however, will be picked up in the bus loading area by the media center. We will certainly have adults out assisting with this, but please make sure you keep this in mind.

That is all I have for this Friday’s message, but I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing, long weekend. We’ll see you all back on Tuesday!
