Martin 8th graders will participate in a “Real World” event sponsored by State Employees Credit Union. Students will be randomly given a career scenario and will visit various stations/tables to purchase transportation, housing, groceries, etc., using the budget, education and family scenario given to them. The students will have to balance their spending and wants/needs based on their income from their career scenario.
We are in need of volunteers to work at tables in the Martin Media Center on March 10, 11 and 12, during 1st, 4th, 5th and 7th periods, through their social studies classes.
If you can work a station/table during any of the slots below, please email Cindy Brendle at email@example.com and indicate what date(s) and what period(s) you are available. We need a total of 5 volunteers, per period, per day. Information will be available for volunteers to use as students come to the table to make a choice about whatever your table represents–housing, transportation, etc.
We need help during the following times, on Mar. 10, 11, and 12:
- 1st period/ 7:30-8:20
- 4th period/10:09-10:55
- 5th period/10:59-11:45
- 7th period/12:39-1:25
Reminder: All volunteers for this event, must have completed the WCPSS volunteer process.
Thanks for considering this opportunity!
